Major Headlines

Apple Event: Apple had its first release event of the year, introducing a slew of new products ⬇️

A new $429 iPhone SE

A new $599 iPad Air

A new Mac Studio computer for $1,999 with the M1 Max chip and $3,999 with the M1 Ultra Chip

Apple had some other cool announcements, including:

Showing off its new M1 Ultra Chip...

... and announcing a new partnership with the MLB

Amazon Stock Split: Amazon announced a 20:1 stock split and a $10B share buyback program. Amazon's split has a record date of May 27 and begins trading split-adjusted as of June 6.

CPI for February came in at 7.9% (YoY) in line with expectations.

Major Earnings Headlines

DocuSign reported earnings Thursday after the markets closed, posting numbers of:

• EPS of $0.48, in line with expectations

• Rev of $580.83M, beating expectations of $561.55M

DocuSign also announced a new $200M share buyback program.

Oracle reported earnings Thursday after the markets closed, posting numbers of:

• EPS of $1.29, beating expectations $1.05

• Rev of $10.51B, in line with expectations

CrowdStrike reported earnings Wednesday after the markets closed, posting numbers of:

• EPS of $0.30, beating expectations of $0.20

• Rev of $431.01M, beating expectations of $412.38M

Rivian reported earnings Thursday after the markets closed, posting numbers of:

• EPS of -$2.43, missing expectations of -$1.97

• Rev of $54M, missing expectations of $60.72M

Rivian has now produced 2,425 cars as of Tuesday, with 909 of those vehicles being produced in 2021.

Salesforce ($CRM) reported earnings Tuesday after the markets closed, posting numbers of:

• EPS of $0.84 beating expectations of $0.75

• Rev of $7.33B beating expectations of $7.24B

Salesforce raised its revenue guide for the upcoming year to between $32-$32.1B up from its previous guide of between $31.65-$31.8B and above consensus estimates of $31.78B.

Ulta reported earnings Thursday after the markets closed, posting numbers of:

• EPS of $5.41, beating expectations of $4.56

• Rev of $2.73B, beating expectations of $2.69B

Ulta also announced a new $2B share buyback program.

• Google said it plans to invest $700M to purchase and upgrade its office in Warsaw Poland - Google Blog 

• Ryan Cohen co-founder of Chewy and chairman of GameStop now owns a 9.8% stake in Bed Bath & Beyond through his investment firm RC Ventures - WSJ 

• Intel announced that MobileEye has submitted an S-1 draft registration to the SEC indication its intentions to go public through an IPO - RobotReport

Tuesday:

• Lululemon revealed its first ever footwear collection "made for woman first" - BusinessWire 

• Google agreed to acquire Cybersecurity firm Mandiant for $5.3 Billion or $23 per $MNDT share in cash - Google 

• Tesla sold a total of 56,515 China made Tesla’s during February, 33.3K were exported outside of China while the remaining 23.2K was sold within China - CNEVPost 

• Amazon is negotiating a deal to turn Playstation's game franchise "God of War" into a live-action TV series on Amazon Prime Video - Deadline

Wednesday:

• Tesla raised prices on the long-range versions of the Model 3 and Model by $1,000 - Electrek 

• Peloton announced a new Apple Watch integration for its Bike, Bike Plus, and Tread - The Verge 

• The SEC is set to vote on a rule that would require companies to report major cybersecurity incidents within four days - WSJ

Thursday:

• Rihanna’s lingerie brand Savage X Fenty is reportedly considering going public through an IPO at a valuation of $3 billion or more - New York Post 

• The IRS said it plans to hire 10,000 new employees by the end of 2023 - WAPO

• TikTok is reportedly nearing a deal for Oracle to store its US user data - The Verge

Friday:

• Pfizer announced it completed of its acquisition of Arena Pharmaceuticals - Pfizer
